Steven Kennedy sings into a microphone.
Mark Lebiecki plucks the bass and licks the microphone
Allen Kelemen gently strums the guitar and licks the mic on occasion
Brian Fraser noodles around the neck
Jon Lebiecki hits shit with sticks.

How would you describe you music to someone who has never heard it?

Detroit City Rock Punk. It’s difficult for us to categorize ourselves at times because we really enjoy playing what we feel like playing. We’ve all grown up listening to different music and playing in different genres. Our conflicting influences really create our sound.

What are the Pop Punk and Hardcore scenes like in Michigan?

It has had its ups and downs over the years. Lately, things have been great. I’m sure Michigan has an average scene like everywhere else. Some shows are great, other shows aren’t the best but we love playing regardless.

Are there any bands that you would recommend from your scene?

Here’s some great bands and friends of ours: Wilson, Squid The Whale, Citizen, Live It Out, Mick Maslowski, Shapes & Colors, Solid Snake, Reverend, American Opera, The Armed.

How did the relationship between South Division Records and Undesirable People form?

It all started when Brian, the owner of SD, approached us with the idea of being the first band on the label. It’s a small team but we get shit done. Since signing, we’ve released one EP and things couldn’t be better.

On April 4th you’ll be playing The Jamboree Music Festival in Toledo, Ohio. How did you get involved with that fest?

We were asked to play. It's going be a great time!

You have lots of shows coming up, including a sweet tour with State Champs and Maker. Can you give us some details? What stops are you looking forward to the most?

Very excited for this run! We recently met the dudes in Maker and can’t wait to get out play shows with both bands. We’re looking forward to all the stops actually, Brian is only 20, so he can party in Canada with us.
What’s the craziest thing that has ever happened at a show or while on tour?

So this one time, we played a show in Southgate, MI. The cops busted in during our last song of our set. They kicked everyone out and shut down the venue... Permanently.

What the most memorable show that you’ve ever played?

Our EP release show was awesome. It was our first headlining show and it was nice to see so many people that enjoyed our set as much as we enjoy playing it.

What’s the most memorable show that you’ve attended?

I saw Van Halen last week.

What can your fans expect from Undesirable People in the near future?

Nothing. Just kidding. A whole lot actually! Expect more tours around the U.S., more tunes(a full-length in the works). We have pretty cool cover song coming in March too!

Thanks for your time, any final comments for your fans?
